In celebration of 100 years of Bollywood, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, took part in a special event organized during the Asian Business Association (ABA) Dinner held at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London. The occasion brought together prominent figures from business, media, and politics to honor a century of Indian cinema.

During the event, Johnson was presented with vintage Bollywood posters from the iconic film Mughal-e-Azam by art collector Ajay Seth. These collectibles symbolized the rich heritage and global influence of Bollywood, which has grown into one of the largest film industries in the world.

In his speech, Johnson emphasized the strong and historic relationship between London and India, particularly through cinema. He acknowledged Bollywood’s cultural significance and its increasing global reach, noting London’s growing role as a hub for international film production.

The event also featured charity initiatives, including a raffle supporting Oxfam, and showcased rare Bollywood memorabilia such as vintage vinyl records and artwork. Around 400 guests attended the evening, reflecting the widespread appreciation of Indian cinema within the UK.

This celebration highlighted not only Bollywood’s 100-year journey but also the deep cultural and creative connections shared between India and the United Kingdom.
